Karthiyayini Srinivas

Smt. Karthyayini was a Dancer by profession. NATYAMAYURI SMT.KARTHIYAYINI commenced her training in Bharthanatyam at the tender age of six from her Guru Kuthulam Ganeshan Pillai and Guru Radhakrishnan and later joined Dhanajayan and Padmasri Adayar K.Lakshaman. As a disciple of Guru Adayar K.Lakshaman, she made her Arangetram in India and Abroad. She had her lessons in mohiniattam from Guru Sri.Aravindan and Smt.Vasantha Aravindan. After her Rangaprasavam, she has won many laurels in exponents of Mohiniattam and performed in many Sabhas in India and to her credit she has performed in U.K under the auspices of ICCR at Nehru Center, London and at Bhartha Vidya Bhavan, also at Malaysia, Indonesia and at Brunei. In recognition of her dedication to dance she has been conferred the titles of “Natyamayuri” “Bhartakala Ratna” “Natyapriya” “Mohiniattam Nanmani”. She commenced her Kuchipudi lessons from Smt.Durgadevi. After her Arangetram in Kuchipudi, she has done various dance performances for sabhas. At present, she is the founder and director of “ Karthiyayini Performing Art Center”. She is from Guruvayur, Thrissur District. She is the wife of Mr. S.Srinivas.
