She belongs to Thuruthiparambil family in Ernakulam district. Shyamala Jayaprakash is a graduate in psychology with diploma in Journalism and is presently working as an Education Management specialist. She is married to Mr. T.K. Jayaprakash and the couple has two sons – Kalyan and Ganesh. Her elder son did International Business Management and the younger son B.Tech.
