Mr. K. Shanker is Managing Director of Technip, world leaders in oil & gas engg. contracting. A French company, having 23000 employees in 40 countries with revenues of 8 billion Euros, it is involved in the on-shore, off-shore, sub-sea & industries’ projects. Technip India has 1000 people in Chennai and Mr. Shanker was instrumental in starting the company from the scratch. He started his career in 1972 with Spic as an Engg. Management Trainee and worked till 2000 when he held the position of Ex. Director. In Spic he was involved in all projects in India and abroad. He did his studies from Don Bosco, Loyola College, IIT Madras and University of Madras. He was Chairman of the Flood Lights Committee of TNCA to set up floodlights in M.A. Chidambaram Cricket Stadium and it is one of the best flood lit cricket stadiums in South East Asia. He hails from Thrissur. His wife is Mrs. Jaishree and he has one son Sunil Shanker.
