Mr V Mohanan is Director of Afloat Engineers, Chennai and Director, Maritime Foundation, Chennai. Before starting his own company, he had worked as Chief Engineer of Shipping Corporation of India for eight years and as Chief Engineer on various ships of foreign companies. In 1987, he founded Afloat Engineers, a ship-repairing company. He specialises in marine mechanical support. Mr Mohanan hails from Guruvayoor in Trichur district. He had his education from Valanchery High School,Valanchery, St.Thomas College, Trichur(PDC) and Regional Engineering College, Kozhikode from where he took BSC.(Engg.) in Mechanical Engineering. A technically qualified for teaching, his expertise is in ship-repairing field. He also runs a Maritime Training Centre and is also promoting real estate in Guruvayoor in Kerala. He is also the Chief Executive Officer of Maritime Foundation. He is married to Latha Mohan, They have two daughters, Mrs Dhanya Ajai and Mrs Pooja Abhilash.
