Mr. T.P. Imbichammad is the Chairman and Managing Director of ‘Avalon Technologies Private Limited’. Apart from being an eminent businessman, he is a multifaceted personality who held very responsible positions in different institutions and have undertaken and successfully implemented several projects. He is also actively involved in the socio-cultural and educational arena and his contributions in these fields are also remarkable. He is recipient of the “Vijaya Ratna Award -1991” at Bangalore for contributions to Industry and Social Welfare Activities. Among the various positions held by him include, Chairmanship of institutions like “Transformers & Electricals Kerala Ltd.” (A Govt. of Kerala Undertaking); Sienna Corporation (San Jose, USA);Emantras Interactive Technologies and was also Chairman of Travancore Cements Ltd., Kottayam which is yet another Undertaking of the Kerala Government. He also held the Directorship of various Private and Public Sector Institutions in Kerala which include: Cherukavu Land Development Pvt. Ltd., ‘KELTRON’, Steel Industrials Kerala Ltd. (SILK), Cochin; Travancore Cochin Chemicals Ltd., (TCC); Carbon & Chemicals Ltd. (CACIL – A joint venture of R.P.Goenka Group & KSIDC for producing Carbon Black); Tavancore Titanium Products Ltd., (TTP) and Premier Tyres Ltd. He is also Director – Navodaya Mass Entertainments Ltd., Madras. Graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kerala, Mr.T.P. Imbichammad has undergone Management and Training courses like, ‘Process Control Management Course in Computers in Foxboro company (Foxboro, USA); Three tier Management Course by Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and Training in SKODA and various other Machine Tool Factories in Czechoslovakia, Germany and the USA. Mr. Imbichammad is an expert in diverse fields of Engineering and Technology and during his career, has undertaken and successfully implemented several projects such as – Design and Installation of Total Process Control System and computerization programme for Kudremukh Iron Ore Ltd., with FOXBORO Co. USA; establishment of machine tool project at Surat in collaboration with STROJIMPORT, Prague, Czechoslovakia; Establishment of Heavy Machine Shops for Director General of Naval Project, Vizag and similar other projects. He has served M/s Batliboi & co. Ltd., for 23 years and retired as their General Manager in 1983. Since then he is very active in diverse fields and stepped up his activities in the socio- cultural and educational fronts as well, besides being tightly busy with his business and related engagements. Mr.T.P.Imbichammad has also served in the academic and other boards of the University of Madras; IIT, Madras and similatr other institutions. He was the Governor’s Nominee to the Madras University Syndicate for two terms. He was also a Member of the Syndicate Committee on Examinations, Discipline and Students Welfare and so on. He has been a Member, Board of Governors of Indian Institute to Technology, Madras. He too held positions in the University and College Boards in Kerala and Karnataka states as well which includes, Member, Kerala Government Committee on Technical Education & Industry Interaction; Chairman, MES College of Engineering, Kuttippuram, Kerala; Patron – AIMES Degree College, Bidar, Karnataka and so on. He has been actively involved with the functioning of the All India Muslim Educational Society (AIMES), New York Academy of Sciences and similar other institutions.He is the Founder General secretary of MES, Madras; Chairman, MES Overseas Committee and Secretary General of AIMES. Mr.T.P.Imbichammad is also involved with the activities of Rotary Clubs, Malayalee Associations and various foreign bodies as well.
