Mr. Gokulam Gopalan, an eminent business magnet is Chairman & Managing Director of Sree Gokulam Group of Companies. He began his business venture in Chennai almost four decades ago and has established his kingdom throughout the length and breadth of India. He is the recipient of a number of prestigious awards like ‘Parishudha Mother Teresa Award’ for Social Work, ‘Mother India Gold Medal Award’ – presented by Economic & Human Resource Development Association, New Delhi and ‘K 3 Top Ten Achievers Award’ etc. Hailing from Vadakara in Kerala, he is born as the eldest son of Mr. A.M. Chathu and late Mrs. Mathu in the Ambalathummeethal family. Gokulam Gopalan started his career as a Medical Representative and rose to the present stature through determination. Ltd. was started in 1968 at Mylapore in Chennai. From a mere chit company, today it has grown as a big family of over 7000 members catering to the needs of its 12 lakh customers through 198 computerised branches spread across eight states in India. Now the company has a turnover of Rs. 2,200 crores per annum.. He is Chairman – India region of the ‘World Malayalee Council’. The Sree Gokulam Public School & MGM Gokulam Public School (CBSE) the two ultra-modern English medium schools in Vadakara and Attingal in Trivandrum, run by the Sree Gokulam Educational & Medical Trust is providing education to students at a reasonable fee up to the 12th standard.
