Suseela Gopalakrishnan

Mrs. Suseela Gopalakrishnan is a prominent political leader and social worker from Kerala, who has established her position in Chennai and is presently a Councilor of the Chennai Corporation representing the Division 124. She also hold the position as State Vice President – Nair Service Society (NSS), Tamil Nadu unit. She hails from Pallana in Alleppy district. A Postgraduate in Sociology, she had her studies from Asan Memorial School, Pallana, NSS High School, Karuvatta and SD College, Alleppey. She is married to Mr.M.G. Gopalakrishnan Nair (Tally Clerk – Chennai Port Trust) and the couple has a son M.G.Pradeep, B.Tech. MBA and daughter M.G.Pradeepa, B.P.T. She joined the Indian National Congress in 1981 and became Divisional President of K.K.Nagar. She was elected to Chennai Corporation’s Taxation and Finance Committee Member during 1996 – 2001. In 2001, she won the 124 Division elections as an independent candidate to the Chennai Corporation. The Mambalam Exnora International conferred on her the Best Social Worker Award in September 2001.
