Prof.Dr. T.M.R.Panicker

Dr. T.M.R. Panicker served in Government Stanley Medical College Hospital in Chennai as Assistant Professor initially and later as a Professor in Radiological Physics for nearly 25 years from 1963. He is a well-known writer of popular science articles in newspapers and magazines and he has published 3 books and over 100 articles in that category. Secretary of the International Medical Sciences Academy (IMSA) TN chapter, he is very active from its inception in organising Continuing Medical Education (CME) for consultants, general practitioners and doctors in the city and has conducted 280 monthly CME programmes. As Chairman of the Association of Medical Physicists of India, TN chapter, he has been organising conferences, CMEs and workshops. He has been promoting educational institutions for children drawn from the weaker section of the society in Chennai. A great appreciation that he received for social work is “World in Harmony” when he screened over thousand milk powder packets for radio active contamination in 1987 meant for distribution for poor children and this certificate was signed by Irene Princess of Greece. He hails form Vadakara, Kozhikode district. He is President – Madras Kerala Samajam, Vice-Chairman – All India Malayali Association and Professor & Dean – K.J. Research Foundation. He is married to Mrs. Lakshmikutty and has three children – Dr. T.M. Raghuram, Mr. T.M. Ramesh Babu and Mrs. Remalakshmi Devarajan.
